As with a fine hanging scroll, a photograph can compliment and set the mood for a pot. Recently a local photographer's works inspired me with their ethereal moods and evocative chords. I thought surely the pots in our gallery would look stunning with his work, and thus the four photographs today. The artist is Okabe Minoru, born in 1962 not far from our gallery here in Mishima. Okabe has exhibited mostly within Shizuoka prefecture yet as with Sugimoto Hiroshi his work deserves to be seen by a wider audience. The smallest photograph--seen in the first set of photos here--is 33cm.longx23cm.wide with the frame at 47cm.longx37. All works are framed and each photograph is signed. The prices range from 45,000 yen to 60,000 yen for the largest one shown with Nagaoka Masami's natural ash-glazed jar. Okabe is a visionary artist and we hope you enjoy his art.
