"The clay comes from the earth, I give it shape. The colors and patterns are born in the flames." These are the words of the late Ben Cohen and are the spirit of the kiln that Reiko--Ben's wife--now runs. Ben passed away in 1992 from ASL and obviously Reiko and sons were devastated. Yet her will, and Ben's, kept the flames alive and Reiko, to her great credit, creates some very good Echizen works. We have six of her works to offer and the first is the most traditional; a well-rounded jar with luscious natural ash glazing and kiln roof drips. In perfect condition with a signed box--a bit less in price if a box is not needed--and is 23cm.tallx27, signed on base.
