Koike Shoko(b.1943) is a celebrated ceramic artist of international fame; her works are in important private collections and have been shown in numerous museum exhibitions including at the Crocker, Sacramento at this moment, and also in the past at Museum of Fine Art, Boston, Japan Society, New York, and the Musee Tomo in Tokyo. Her work will be shown in Tokyo next week as she receives the prestigious Japan Ceramic Society Award, the Gold Prize went to Kato Kozo, a portion of the exhibition card is seen here. This lidded vessel dates back about five years and is a fine example of Koike's work in a smaller size; in perfect condition, 17.2cm.tallx25, a signed box to be made if desired and for a slight extra charge.
