Here is a recently published book on the history of Old Tamba pottery (12th century-end of Edo period (1868)) mainly taken from the collection of the Old Tamba Pottery Museum. It has about 200 fabulous photos taken by Fujimori Takeshi, who studied with the late, great Domon Ken. Fujimori's past themes have included Buddhist statues and temples as well as the paintings of Kumagai Morikazu. The text is by current museum director Nakanishi Kaoru, with an English translation of the opening essay and a two-page introduction about old Tamba in the back. All else in Japanese only, except photo captions and list of works. A deluxe book with outer slip case, cloth cover, 275 pages. We're able to get multiple copies.
