Just about the time Kakurezaki Ryuichi was breaking out and making a huge name for himself here in Japan--and later the world---he made this piece, that was 1990. It shows a keen sense of design and form combined with a classic Bizen firing; Kakurezaki deeply respects the masterpieces of old Bizen, yet feels no desire to replicate them; he creates Bizen that speaks to the here and now on a fine arts level. A museum piece in perfect condition with a signed box, 41.5cm.tallx26.8.18, signed on base.
