Kimura Yoshiro(b.1946) is really quite an amazing ceramic artist in his pure vision of blue vessels. On this rippling water-like glazed bowl one's senses are filled with coolness and delight upon viewing it. The blue tones change from sky blue near the lip to an opaque blue-purple in the pool. A fine example of Kimura's work in perfect condition with a signed box, 9cm.tallx29, stamped on base, dating to 1987. Kimura is an important contemporary ceramic artist with works in the Tokyo National Museum, three museums in Hiroshima and the Tanabe Museum of Art; he continues to have a very successful career with an upcoming exhibition in Tokyo.
