Plique a jour, that unusual, difficult, and beautiful enamelling technique that gives a stained glass effect dates from the 15th century. It was used by Cellini, and revived in the late 1800s in France. This plique a jour pendant is centered with an oval opal and accented with eight colorless brilliants and a fresh water pearl dropper.
