An unusual leather overlay wooden table top chest with beautiful hardware. Size: H. 16cm. W. 38 x 22.2 cm.
Condition: No repairs. Some loss of the leather, but overall in good condition and useable.
An early Qing Nanmu side table. Nanmu side tables are extremely rare and one of my favorite softwoods. Nanmu is considered the best softwood for Ming and Qing furniture and was highly prized for its beauty. Size: L. 83.5cm. W. 40cm. H. 70.8cm.
Condition: This piece was professionally restored with all of its original parts in Hong Kong. One small replacement piece on one corner.
An exceptional and rare pair of hungmu chairs also know as blackwood not to be confused with rosewood. Blackwood was used during the Qing Dynasty when there was no more Huanghuali.The back part of the chairs has a relief carving of a mother dragon and her baby. Age: Early 19th century. Size: H. 100.5cm. W. 65cm. Condition: No repairs. Normal wear.

A portable vanity case of blackwood with all original hardware and mirror. It is in it's original condition as found. Age. Very early 19th century. Size: L. 27.5cm. W.20cm. H.10.8cm. Condition. No repairs. Mirror has some peeling of the silver backing around the edges, because of age. One handle knocker is missing and the lock has decomposed (common with these old pieces).Some old reinforcement strips on the front and inside.
A slim rectangular box of huanghuali wood with original brass hardware. Over a two-part round lock plate is a cloud-shaped hasp. The four corners on top also have cloud-shaped protective/decorative brass.
Period: 17th Century

Condition: Some old age cracks.
A huanghuali wood brush pot carved with flowering trees and lingzhi fungus. The trees/foliage are encased in three large panels resembling petals. The interior of the rim (down about 1.5 cm) is also carved into three sections made to resemble tops of petals. There are many what are called "ghost faces" present in the grain - a characteristic of huanghuali. The carving might be from a later date.

A rare lacquered elmwood 18th century classical folding stool. The rattan seat has been professionally restored and all the hardware and wood is original. Size: H. 36cm. W. 35cm x 45cm. Age: Early Qing Dynasty.
