A Nonya plate with a foliated base painted with pomegranates, peaches and bats symbolizing fruitfulness, prosperity and happiness. Nonya wares are over-glaze polychrome enamelled porcelains made in Jingdezhen in the Kiangsi province of China for the Straits Chinese, or Babas, whose female counterparts are called Nonyas, hence the term Nonya ware. Nonya wares were mainly reserved for festive occasions and special functions. Size: L. 20cm. W. 14.2cm. H. 4.3cm. Condition: No repairs

A very rare Veneered Huanghuali Square table. Veneered pieces were made at the end of the Ming Dynasty as huanghuali wood was getting very scarce. You don't find many huanghuali veneered pieces around anymore which makes it a nice collectors item. The table still has the stains of the scholars ink as these tables were often used as work tables for scholars. I prefer leaving the stains rather then removing them.
