This is an excellent example of a very early Sui/Tang Jar. The Vase was likely buried in wet conditions for a very long period (approx 1500 yrs) This and the other Tang Vase were purchased for my personal collection over 30 years ago. Although the Straw glaze has degraded over time, there are no repairs or restorations to the piece. It measures 12.0" in height and is 8.0" in diameter.
This is an excellent example of a Tang Dynasty stoneware. The glaze is in excellent with little to no degradation. The Jar/Vase had no repair or restoration. The glaze is a light celdon with a slight blue cast. There is one firing flaw (shown). I have chosen not to remove the flaw but it could be done with little trouble. The Jar is a full 13.3" in height and 8.1" in diameter.
This Tang Dynasty was likely to have been a part of a ritual wine set from a Tang burial and dating to the Tang dynasty. The Dish is in excellent condition With most of the glaze remaining. There are a couple of small stains (shown) on the piece. The Dish measures a full 9.25" in diameter and is 1.38" in height.
This is a small Jade carving of a Rooster. It appears to be carved with some archaic style features. The Rooster measures 2.38" x 2.5" x .88". There is no damage to the piece.
This is a fine Imari Tea Caddy dating to the mid 1700's. The top has been refitted with a sterling silver cap dated 1833. The Tea Caddy is in excellent condition with no chips or repairs. It measures 5.5" in height, 3.38" wide and 2.0" deep.
This is a beautifully detailed Satsuma Brush Holder or Vase, likely dating to the mid 19th century. Due to it age, there has been some loss of gilding but the artwork is intact. The piece likely came with a wooden box bearing the artists signature and place of origin but was lost over time. I have seen this in some early pieces. This is an expertly carved and finished Buddha carved from a single piece of "Tiger Eye" stone. The Buddha is a full 7.00" in height, 4.0" wide and 2.25" deep. The Buddha is in excellent condition with the exception of a chip on the base which has been polished out.
This figure of a Lady is one of the best examples of carving that I have owned. The detail and finish are exceptional. The Figure measures 9.0" in height, 2.88" wide and 2.0" deep. There is no damage to the piece.
This Smokey Quartz Brush Washer was crafted by a talented Carver. The polish is excellent. There is no damage to the piece. The Brush Washer measures 4.13" in length, 2.50" in width and is 1.50" in height.
