Hendrik J. Glintenkamp, Snowy Hillside, 1912
Snowy Hillside 1912, Hendrik J. Glintenkamp 1887 - 1946, oil on board, signed lower left, signed/dated verso, 5 1/2" by 8", 10" by 12" framed in original frame with replacement linen liner, no restorations apparent. Painter studied National Academy of Design and New York School of Fine and Applied Art under Robert Henri and John Sloan. In 1908 started sharing studio space with Stuart Davis and Glen O. Coleman. Created illustrations for The Masses, a leftist magazine, 1913-1917, working with John Sloan and George Bellows. Exhibited Armory Show 1913, Exhibition of Independent Artists 1910, Art Institute of Chicago, National Academy of Design, Panama Pacific Exhibition of 1915, Pennsylvania Academy, Salons of America, Society of Independent Artists, Whitney Museum of American Art.
