Maud Mary Mason, Flowers in a Blue Vase
Flowers in a Blue Vase, Maud Mary Mason 1867 - 1956, oil on unstretched canvas, 6 5/8" by 4 3/4" sight, signed lower right, 10 3/8" by 12 1/4" housed in 22K gold leafed molded composition frame, no apparent restorations. Artist studied Art Students League of New York and Pratt Institute of Art with William Merritt Chase, Henry Snell, and Arthur Dow; also studied under Frank Brangwyn in Paris. Served as President of National Academy of Design in 1934. Exhibited American Watercolor Society, Art Institute of Chicago, Corcoran Gallery Biennial, National Association of Woman Artists, National Academy of Design, National Arts Club, Panama Pacific Exhibition 1915, Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts, Philadelphia Exposition 1876, Society of Independent Artists.
