| Open Pasture, Winter, Francis Henry Richardson 1857 - 1934, oil on board, 10 3/8" by 13 3/4", oil on board, signed lower right, 14 1/8" by 17 3/8" housed in original carved frame from Ralph E. Baker, Picture Framing, Lynn, label verso, light surface soils, no restorations. Artist studied with Alice Knowlton and William Morris Hunt in Boston. In 1886 traveled to Paris, attended Academie Julian, student of Gustave Boulanger, Lucien Doucet, Jules Lefebvre, Jean Paul Laurens, and Benjamin Constant. Exhibited at the Paris Salon 1888-1900, winning a prize in 1899. Exhibited National Academy of Design, Pennsylvania Academy, American Watercolor Society, Art Institute of Chicago, Salmagundi Club, Corcoran Gallery, North Shore Art Association, Detroit Museum of Art. Maintained studios in Boston and Ipswich, Massachusetts. | ||
