| New Hampshire artist, Charles Franklin Pierce 1844 - 1920, Rocky Pasture, 6" by 8", oil on board, initialed lower right, 11 1/8" by 13 1/8" housed in gilded Hackman frame, no apparent restorations. Artist traveled to Boston in 1864 to study art; then later to England, Scotland, and Wales. Member Boston Art Club, New Haven Paint and Clay Club. Exhibited Art Institute of Chicago, Corcoran Gallery Biennial, National Academy of Design, Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts, St. Louis Exposition-World's Fair 1904. | ||
