| Painter, etcher, and graphic artist George A. Renouard 1884-1954, Cape Ann Coast, oil on canvas, 20" by 24", unsigned, 28 1/2" by 32 3/8" housed in 22K gilded, carved reproduction frame, no apparent restorations. Artist was born in Rochester, N.Y. and later moved to New York City. Studied at Pratt Institute and Erasmus Hall in Brooklyn and the Art Students League of New York, where he later became an instructor. Painted throughout New York, frequenting the Catskills and Long Island, and the Massachusetts coast, Rockport, Gloucester, and Cape Ann. Exhibited American Federation of Arts, Art Institute of Chicago, Connecticut Academy of Fine Arts, National Academy of Design, Salmagundi Club, Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Art. | ||
