| Impressionist Emma Lampert Cooper 1855 - 1920, Stone House, oil on board, 13 7/8" by 10", signed lower right center, 17 5/8" by 21 5/8" housed in carved and gilded reproduction period frame, no apparent restorations. Artist graduated Wells College, Aurora, New York. Studied Academy Delecluse in Paris and with Jacob Kever in Holland; Art Students League of New York with Agnes Abbatt and William Merritt Chase; and Cooper Union. Traveled widely after her marriage to Colin Campbell Cooper in 1897. Was a founder of Rochester Art Club and taught at Mechanics Institute in Rochester. Exhibited Paris Salon, Boston Art Club, Art Institute of Chicago, National Academy of Design, Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Art. | ||
