| Landscape and portrait painter, Arthur Merton Hazard 1872 - 1930, Garden Fountain, watercolor on paper, 22 1/2" by 18 1/2" sight, signed lower left, 33" by 29" housed under glass in contemporary gilt composition frame, no restorations. This work may depict the Garden of the Huntington in Pasedena, California. Artist studied Cowles Art School in Boston, with Joseph DeCamp and Frank Deveneck in Cincinnati, and Henri Blanc and Rene Prinet in Paris. Spent most of career in Boston, then moved to Los Angeles in 1923 for health reasons. Member of St. Botolph Club, Copley Society, and Salmagundi Club. Exhibited Art Institute of Chicago, Boston Art Club, California Art Club, National Academy of Design, and Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts. | ||
