Felipe was born in San Pedro Martir, Oaxaca 1959. This self-taught artists paintings and watercolors reflect the unique vision of Magical Surrealism. His works can be found in private collections all over the world and are on exhibit in the many prestigious galleries of Oaxaca's colonial capital. Felipe is part of an important group of Oaxacan artists, recognized internationally as Contemporary Voices of Mexico. Felipe's work links us to a world of life and death, of ritual and tradition.

His paintings are anointed with a popular spirit influenced by Mexican Folk Art. His popular iconography (influenced by Mexican Folk Art) is a constant some have called Naif. Only a handful exist and several exhibited at 'La Mano Magica' in Oaxaca.
