This amazing Eleven-faced Kannon is dating from mid Edo period, around the beginning of 18th century.
Sign of sculptor of Buddhist in Edo period on the base.
It is 11-headed Kannon (Juichimen Kannon), had ten faces on the top of its main face, but one face has not disappeared.
This Kannon Bosatsu standing image is carved from single piece of wood.
The whole is gold gilt. Even if it passes through 300 years, there is wonderful brightness.
Expression of such a wonderful face that it cannot express in words. Solemnness,tender, and a healing figure gentle to.
Double-leaf door zushi(small shrine) with family crest "Mitsuba Aoi" in gold lacquer, indicating that the shrine was made on order for a Tokugawa family shrine.
It is very rare Kannon Bosatsu because of the relative Tokugawa, the family that inherits the shogunate.
The metal fittings of Zushi are copper and exceptional.
Inside is a gold gilt inner chamber.
The condition is excellent.
But there are any wear, came off lacquer and loss due to old age.
But it is minor for the age and great shape.
