Fine Makie Tobacco-Bon with Auspicious Design, Nashiji

Fine Japanese old Tobacco tray(Tobacco-Bon;holding smoking utensils) is decorated gold makie with auspicious design with gold makie and nashiji finish(gold lacquered).

On the back side section, It has different pattern deign.
The garden scenery, two Japanese deers, Chokairo image and standing Shoki image.

Chokairo is a one of a god of "Hassen" that is called "God of Wealth" of Taoism, and image is charm longevity.

Shoki is a god of Taoism and that image is charm against evil.

These back side part design is look like a folding screen(Byoubu).
The shallow drawers are able to open smoothly.

The condition is very best except some small chip on the edge of tray and some wear by old age.
But these some age wear is very minor for the age, great shape and fine gold makie work in Meiji.

Dating from Meiji era(1868-1912).
This makie tray is able to use as a Cosmetics box.

Measurements about : 17.5cm(6.88") Length, 29.5cm(11.61") Width, 25.5cm (10.03")Tall.
