Antique bronze tube-shaped case with cover for Sutras,"kyo-zutsu". Dating from mid Edo period,18C. The case used in the temple in Japan of the Edo period. The Buddhist scripture was kept into this. It can be used also as a Ikebana vase. Would make a fantastic flower vase for a table Ikebana flower arrangement. Interior has bronze inner flower holder "otoshi". Overall condition is very best considering old age. It has fine patina. It is an excellent piece for the collector of a Japanese antique art lover.
