Magnificent Wajima Lacquered Folding Screen with Sutra

The history of the lacquer ware called "Japan" goes back about 6800 years ago.
Although fear has been held in the influenced Japanese lacquer "Urushi", it was believed as trees in which God dwells.

The greatest special feature that identifies Wajima-nuri and other places lacquer-ware is that the diatomite is used for the ground.
Wajima-nuri for being strongly matchless.
Important intangible cultural heritage specification of the Wajima-nuri was carried out in Showa 52 (1977).
Wajima-nuri is the most expensive in Japan and is a lacquered article of the most beautiful first class articles.
This article is real Wajima.
It is a best quality.

The brilliant gold lacquer work of this folding screen looks beautiful in the darkness of night beautifully.
A restrained, delicate beautiful in brightness.

The fan figure which made full use of the technique of raised gold makie"Taka-makie" is given to the folding screen.
The princess of the aristocrat of the Heian period, the flower of a lotus, the phoenix, and priest etc. that have a deep connection in Buddhism is drawn.
Furthermore, a snatch of the sutra is drawn with the Chinese character.
This may be the connection whose former owner was a priest.

The condition is in excellent except very very minor wear on the back.
The backside is decorated in Roiro lacquer ground(deep black).

Dating from Showa, 20th century.
Signed artist name "Kado" on the lower part of the left side.

This article is an article of the finest quality without an equal also in the handicraft of existing Wajima-nuri.
His teacher's name is called "Kumano Ippo".
Kado passed away about 18 years ago.
Most works which in signed "Kado" are collaboration with "Kumano Ippo" which is his teacher.
He is a famous artist of the Wajima-nuri for manufacturing only the work of the cultural-assets class.

Measurements about:73cm(28.7")Tall, 88cm(34.6")Width of the one side.
