Yutou is the wooden tool which attached the mouth and the handle for pouring the hot water and sake. There are many lacquered things. Both of patterns of the Tokugawa family hollyhock crest which is a shogun family of the Edo period and the Imperial Household's mark of the chrysanthemum are ornamented on the surface of this jug. This item is a very rare item. Overall ground is decorated in nashi-ji gold makie. The hollyhock crest and the chrysanthemum pattern are decorated in raised lacquer work. The condition is in excellent, no chip and no crack. Very very slight minor wear on the makie due to the old age.
