$995

A beautiful, delicate Edwardian hinged bangle bracelet in 14K yellow and white gold, set with blue sapphires and pearls. The traditional double knife-edge frame is decorated on the front side with a foliate-design plaque worked in white gold. The plaque is set with an alternating row of blue sapphires and 2.95mm pearls. The sapphires are a lovely bright cornflower blue with a hint of violet (graded as vB5/4) and show no indications of heat or other treatment. They are typical of stones from Ceylon (Sri Lanka). The pearls, though small, are fine quality with ivory body color and rose overtones. The overall effect is very elegant. The clasp is stamped with a variation of the hallmark used by A. J. Hedges & Co., a leading American jeweler of the period.

Origin: America, ca. 1910. Condition: excellent. Size: 3/16” wide; 6-7/8” interior circumference. Weight: 11.2 gr. Approximate Total Gemstone Weight: .73 ct.

SOLD, PLEASE VISIT US AGAIN!

A wonderful pair of Edwardian earrings in platinum-topped 14K yellow gold. The surmounts, featuring round moonstone cabochons in collet settings, suspend knife-edge drops descending to collet-set diamond above large pear-shaped moonstone cabochons. The moonstones have good blue adularescence against the pale body color. The pear-shaped stones almost have a cat’s-eye effect because of the cutting shape. The large moonstones are set in claw settings with a double gallery that allows light to enter the stones freely. The old European cut diamonds are of good quality. The platinum topping over the gold contributes to the “pale” color scheme that was so important to late Edwardian jewels. The knife-edge mountings are articulated, so the earrings have a lot of movement when being worn. Tested and guaranteed 14K and platinum.

Origin: America, ca. 1910. Condition: excellent, earwires are probably replacements. Size: 2-3/16” to top of earwire. Weight: 7.9 grams. Approximate Total Gemstone Weight: diamond, .1 ct; moonstone, 14.42 cts.

SOLD, PLEASE VISIT US AGAIN!

A delightful 18K yellow gold giraffe charm or pendant by the Goldsmiths & Silversmiths Co. of London. This company was one of the most famous late Victorian and Edwardian jewelers, being appointed as a purveyor to the king. The charm is nicely detailed and shows the giraffe in a standing position with its tall neck outstretched. Certainly, giraffes were still considered unusual animals at the time, and might have been made as either a quirky pendant/charm or as a piece of jewelry for a child. The charm is presented in its original velvet- and silk-lined fitted box, the lid embossed with the Goldsmiths & Silversmiths Co.'s Royal Warrant. Tested and guaranteed 18K.

Origin: England, ca. 1910. Condition: excellent. Size: 1" long. Weight: 4.2 grams.

The ribbon itself is bead-set with round brilliant-cut diamonds, while the open spaces in the loops of the ribbons are set with larger round diamonds in buttercup settings. The overall appearance is very light, but with tremendous sparkle. The back side of the bangle uses a knife-edge construction to maintain the feeling of lightness. The gold setting is finely millegrained. The diamonds are estimated at VS1 clarity and J color. The clasp is marked “14K”.

$1250

An extraordinary and rare 14K yellow gold bangle bracelet by Krementz adorned with enameled white and pale blue forget-me-nots. Krementz made some of the best Art Nouveau enameled jewelry, and continued producing enamels well into the 20th century. Blue and white forget-me-nots, a particularly popular motif in the early 1900s, frequently appeared in small pins and pendants. This piece, however, is the first bangle bracelet we've seen. Bangle bracelets are notoriously subject to damage and it is amazing that the enamel on this bracelet has survived in mint condition. The enameled flowers are accented with engraved foliage and a stippled background. The interior is hallmarked by Krementz and is marked "14K".

Origin: America, ca. 1905. Condition: mint. Size: 1/4" wide; opening, 2-9/16" x 2-1/4". Weight: 9.0 grams.

The leaves look very much like water lilies foliage and are beautifully decorated with translucent green enamel fading to yellow at the tips. The back retains the original clasp and pinstem marked “14K” and hallmarked by Krementz.
