A particularly fine vintage begging poodle pin, the lower half of the body carved from carnelian, while the fluffy upper part is worked in 18K yellow gold. A gold pompom tail and paws accent the carnelian. The poodle’s eye is set with a round emerald and the mouth with a round ruby. The gemstones, though small, are of exceptionally fine quality. The back of the pin is finished with a hinged double clip and is marked “18K”. This quality of this pin is easily on par with animal pins by Cartier, Tiffany or Van Cleef & Arpels, and we were genuinely surprised not to find a signature.Origin: America, ca. 1955. Condition: excellent, all original. Size: 2-1/8” x 1-1/8”. Weight: 21.6 gr.
