A fine example of some of the best enameled silver produced by David-Andersen in the late 1950s. This brooch represents "Spring" from the "Four Seasons" line designed for David-Andersen by Thorbjorn Lie-Jorgensen in the late 1950s. The design is supposed to represent abstract aerial views of the same landscape in each of the four seasons. "Spring" is worked in lush shades of turquoise, teal blue, gold and brown. The back, with the original patina, retains the original pinstem and c-clasp, and is marked "D-A", "925S" and "Norway-Sterling".Origin: Norway, ca. 1959. Condition: excellent, no enamel damage. Size: 1-11/16" x 1-5/16". Weight: 16.25 grams.

A lovely Italian micro-mosaic brooch set in a gilt silver mounting. The brooch depicts a bouquet of blue morning glories against a black background. The coloring is very nice and the mosaic work is excellent. Floral micromosaics usually feature roses instead of more uncommon flowers such as morning glories. The back retains the original pinstem and c-clasp.Origin: Italy, ca. 1870. Condition: excellent, no chips or cracks, no missing tesserae. Size: 1-9/16" x 1-1/4".

During the early and mid-20th century, Kirk made a variety of jewelry in this pattern, including brooches, earrings, pendants, bracelets and rings. Rings are, by far, the most difficult to find. The inside of the shank is marked with Kirk’s hallmark.

A wonderfully rare mixed-metal Curio Medallion brooch by George Shiebler. The pin comprises four individual medallion plaques, each in a different metal and each depicting a different Olympian god. From left: a diamond-shaped gilt-silver plaque shows Artemis/Diana, goddess of the hunt and protector of virgins; a round silver plaque shows Ares/Mars god of violence and offensive warfare; a square bronze plaque shows Dionysus/Bacchus, god of various debaucheries; and a triangular brass plaque shows Athena/Minerva, goddess of wisdom and defensive warfare. The surfaces retain their original patination and sharp detail. The back is marked with Shiebler’s wing hallmark, "sterling", and the design number “1488”. The pinstem is original, but the original c-clasp has been replaced.Origin: America, ca. 1880. Condition: excellent, all original except clasp. Size: 2-11/16” x 7/8”. Weight: 12.0 grams.

A stylish 14K yellow gold and sterling silver “Dome Bracelet” from the Thoroughbred Collection by luxury jewelry designer David Yurman. The 7mm silver cable terminates in yellow gold domes with raised collars. The bracelet is heavy, yet very comfortable. The inside is marked “D. Yurman 585 925”. Yurman’s design number for this piece is B04260-S4-GGM, and it currently retails for $750.Origin: America, ca. 2000. Condition: excellent, a few small dings on the domes from normal wear. An elegant Art Deco bracelet comprising nine plaques joined with double rosette links. The cast plaques are decorated with an ornate floral pattern and are richly gilt. Each is collet-set with a squared cabochon chrysoprase. The milky green color of the gemstones is very nice against the dark gold of the gilding. The clasp is marked with Hungarian silver hallmarks, and the back is marked “Made In Hungary”, indicating the piece was made for export to the U.S.Origin: Hungary, ca. 1930. A wonderful enameled silver and carnelian Easter egg pendant from Russia’s Imperial Romanov era. The top half of the pendant is worked in silver decorated with four shades of opaque and translucent enamels in a spiral design that brings to mind the spiral onion domes of Orthodox churches. The bottom of the pendant features a round carnelian cabochon that harmonizes with the colors of the enamel. Easter eggs were popular gifts in Imperial Russia and were the subject of jewelers at every level from Fabergé on down. Unmarked (the assay mark would have been on the bale, which is now missing).Origin: Russia, ca. 1890. Condition: excellent, all original. Size: 13/16” long. Weight: 5.0 grams.
