This extraordinary vessel is part of Wilhelm Kåge's Argenta series produced for Gustavsberg, Sweden. It measures 9 1/2" tall and is 7 1/2" in diameter. On the underside is painted in silver Handdrejad (hand thrown), Gustavsberg, Argenta, the old anchor insignia, the date code G (1937), KÅGE, 1045, III. Stamped is Hand Drejad. Ingrid and Erich Triller produced their art pottery north of Stockholm, called Tobo. After exhibiting their works in 1936, their pottery became highly popular among connoisseurs. King Gustavus VI Adolphus amassed a significant collection. Each piece is hand thrown and glazed, so production was limited, and ceased in 1972 when Erich Triller died.
