This art deco inspired Argenta bowl is on a very narrow foot. The decoration is of silver stripes in the interior of the bowl. It measures 2 3/8" (6cm) and is 4 1/4" (10cm) in diameter. On the underside of the foot is painted in silver Gustavsberg, the old anchor insignia, the date code Y (1956), A19 and the letter T. Mint condition.
This monumental vase by Berndt Friberg for Gustavsberg measures 9½" (24cm) tall and is 7½" (19cm) in diameter. The glaze is a complex of earth tones. On the underside of the perfect foot is incised Friberg, the Gustavsberg hand insignia, and the letter N. This vase was created in 1972. Mint condition.
This extraordinary and sensuous ceramic sculpture depicts a muscular young man embracing an exaggerated grape cluster. "Drunken Young Man", by Kai Nielsen for Bing & Gröndahl in Copenhagen. This is a rarely found object as part of Wilhelm Kåge's celebrated Argenta series produced for Gustavsberg. It measures 1 5/8" tall and is 1 7/8" in diameter. On the underside is painted in silver Argenta, the old Gustavsberg anchor insignia, Gustavsberg, 958. Impressed is the letter S. Excellent condition. There is crazing, which is normal for the glaze.
This footed bowl is from Gunnar Nylund early years with Bing and Gröndahl. It was created between 1926 and 1928. It measures 4¼" (11cm) high and is 4½" (11.5cm) in diameter. The bowl is on four feet. The glaze is extraordinary and designed to resemble flames surrounding a cauldron. Mint condition.
This mid-size bowl by Berndt Friberg for Gustavsbergs measures 5 7/8" (15cm) in diameter and is 3 1/2" (9cm) on a substantial foot. On the underside is incised Friberg, the Gustavsberg Studio hand insignia, and the date code Ö. This bowl was created in 1958. The haresfur glaze is a complex of blues and greens, and is superb. Mint condition.
