STOCK #: RP071112-03RS CULTURE: Roman (Provincial) DATE: c. 200 B.C. - 200 A.D. MATERIAL(S): Bronze DIMENSIONS: Inner Diameter ~ 18.2 mm (0.716”); US Size 8; UK Size Q (Note: In typical Roman fashion, this ring is slightly oval in shape. Thus sizing, which is based on circular rings is only an approximation.) CONDITION: Solid, intact and totally wearable. Neither restoration, cleaning nor repair, as seen. COMMENTS: A fine Roman (Provincial) ring with an oval bezel featuring a faint pentagram (five-pointed star) design surrounded by several small indentations. More indentations define the outer edge of the bezel and can also adorn the band. The pentagram has been used for millennia, by many cultures, as a powerful and significant religious and magical symbol. Its use in this ring might also indicate Pythagorean influence in the design. Patina is consistent with age and origin. A fine, wearable and authentic ancient example of the jeweller’s craft. PROVENANCE: From an American dealer. Full details will be provided to the purchaser. *Prices in USD and item is guaranteed authentic. Please see our Sales Policy and AUTHENTICITY GUARANTEE for full details. |
