Thus sizing, which is based on circular rings is only an approximation.) CONDITION: Solid, intact and totally wearable. Neither restoration, cleaning nor repair, as seen. COMMENTS: A detailed Roman (Provincial) ring with a raised eye-shaped bezel, the face and sides featuring lovely geometric designs of concentric curves and a hatched pattern respectively. The meaning of these designs is unclear they could have religious, spiritual or magical significance or might be purely decorative. This may suggest Celtic influence in the design. Regardless this ring is a solid, wearable and authentic ancient example of the jeweller’s craft. Patina is consistent with age and origin. PROVENANCE: From an American dealer.
