This is a very elegant Yuzen painted and gold thread embroidered (in parts) Tomesode. It's made with 100% silk, and even the lining is all delicate creme colored silk too. It doesn't appear to be that old, I imagine it was worn a few times and came to my hand. This is a Kimono called Iro-Tomesode. IroTomesode is a little different from regular Kuro Tomesode which is black background. Iro means color, so Irotomesodes are usually made with colorful silk to enhance its beauty while preserving formality for the occasion. This is very cute and traditional Japanese Kimono fabric. At first, I only thought about fragments of Japanese patterns. But then I saw that they were artistic Japanese gift boxed ornated with special knottings! i think it was meant to be boxes made with Kimono fabric like Japanese crazy quilt. This is the cutest fabric I've seen! It's crepe silk, dark blue background to show moonlit night and peopple are celebrating gorgeous cool autumn with maple trees and plum flowers. Their house is quite nice too! Because pattern's scale is small, this would be great for any small projects such as doll cloth, quilt and others. My heart stopped for a second when I saw this fabric.
