| This is a 14 yard long roll of beautiful silk meant for Homongi(semi-formal visiting Kimono). This is from deadstock, so we are able to offer it at bargain price. Their original price for ones like this costs about $3000~8000 in department stores in Japan. Silk itself is called Iromuji, which has wonderful checker board texture somewhat similar to damask, but different. I've seen a lot of Iromuji before, but this one is combination of Chirimen silk and Iromuji, a lot of work has been put to make this roll. Color is faint blue and sky blue gradation and looks as if sky blue was dusted with white flakes, but it was all done with Yuzen method, no real flakes here. Flowers are delicately painted and has lovely gradation to show its details. It has several different flowers. When made into Kimono, it'll be a formal Kimono with Tsukesage pattern.
