Henry Schouten, Dutch, 1864-1927. Schouten was born in Indonesia and died in Gand. He was known for his landscapes with animals as the dominant subject. This large oil on canvas is in a wonderful period frame and is in good condition. It is clearly signed. The canvas measures 28" X 39.5" and framed 38" X 49.5". Schouten's paintings sell for up to $30,000.

Johannes Reekers, Dutch, 1790-1858. He was born in Harlem and lived in Brussels until 1848. He was a student of his father John Reekers and G Van Os. He known for his still life paintings of flowers and fruits. This beautiful painting is oil on wood panel and painted in loving detail. He is listed in Benezit. He showed a painting of fruits at
the British Institute in London in 1847 and has paintings in Museums including the Museum in Harlem, Holland.
