| Olof (Olaf) Jernberg, German, 1855-1935. This lovely impressionist landscape of a shepherd and his flock at a river's edge with trees in peak autumn colors is a reproduction with actual oil over the reproduction on board, 27.5" H x 23" W in the original lovely arts crafts gold frame (overall dimensions 35 1/8" by 30 6/8". It is signed lower right and is in excellent condition as it was under glass. Jernberg was born in Dusseldorf, Germany and studied in Paris. He received medals in London in 1878 & 79 and in Munich in 1891. He was also a professor at the Academy of Beaux Art in Munich. He is known for Landscapes, Portraits, Villages, Farms, Rivers. He is listed in Benezit and his work is in museums in Berlin, Dusseldorf, Kaliningrad, Konigsberg and Munich. His original paintings sell for up to $20,000. | ||
