Japanese Polychrome Ivory Apples on Branch (Meiji)
(Meiji 1868-1912) We are very proud to offer an Antique Ivory Japanese Polychrome carved realistic branch with three apples. It is exquisite! It is very detailed. The apples are just breath-takingly beautiful! It is about 12 inches long. It is in original & excellent condition. It is around 100 years old but looks brand new. It is a treasure. One apple comes loose so you have to be careful when handling it. It is not damaged , it just comes out of its socket on branch. I have seen Ivory single apples sell for $5,000.xx (for one only). Last summer Skinners Auction sold several single Ivory fruits (6 inches long), & they sold for $13,000.xx to $15,000.xx each, respectively. This is the only "apples" on a branch I have ever seen in over 40 years of collecting. This ivory can only be shipped within USA. We accept Paypal only for payment & UPS shipping & insurance. We are no longer able to sell Ivory to anyone in California or New York. The state of Calif. passed a law in April 2012 banning the sale of ALL Ivory in Calif., even the Antique Ivory. New York requires documentation of "original bill of sale", which we lost in moving long ago. In the near future, I think this law will be over the entire USA.. & the World. If you want to buy Ivory You should do so while it is still "legal".
