Fabulous antique Japanese Shigaraki tokkuri sake jug dated early Meiji Period c.1885. The trademark Shigaraki green nagashi striped overglaze is on a white hagi underglaze at the top while the base is a dark blueish-black contrasting glaze. There is a spot in the black where the glaze didn't take in the kiln leaving us a glance at the original clay, which rather adds to this piece's wonderful allure and charm. No cracks. c.1885. (diameter 9" x 13") (diameter 23cm x 33cm). EMS Shipping/Insurance to USA or Western Europe $80.

Dating from the late Edo Period c.1860, this fabulous antique Japanese Seto ceramic vase is signed and in its original box. Written on the box is 'Koseto Heishi' meaning 'old Seto vase, narrow neck'. Also on the box are the characters 'Kabin' meaning 'flower vase'. The signature is also on the box but the characters are difficult to read as they are in the old script. This vase is exceptional. c.1860. (7½" x 7½") (19cm x 19cm). EMS Shipping/Insurance to USA or Western Europe $85.
