Wonderful early Showa Period c.1930 bronze tiger with glass eyes by one of the master bronze craftsman of the time, Tsukahara Joko. His seal is on the underside of the piece. The detail is exceptional, especially the tiger stripes on the back in fine relief. The expression on the face is gentle. Length: About 37cm; H: about 15cm. Ask for shipping quote.

Very unusual and rare iron tetsubin tea ceremony kettle. The textured rough casting is the first of this kind that we have seen. The condition is excellent and there are no cracks or leaks. Very unusual Buddhist temple lamp in the shape of the sacred flaming jewel, symbol of buddhist purity and release from the void. The lamp has flames up both sides and the door opens to a light. Exceptional zen buddhist bronze temple bell with Negoro red lacquer wood stand, cushion and striker. The stiker is wood and the handle is black lacquered. The cushion is silk over cotton. The Negoro stand is older thanthe bell most likey late Meijiperiod, c.1900. The bell is c.1930 and has the japanese characters inscripeted on the bell: 'Tokusi Kinhori' or specially hand made pounded bronze. the sound resonates and seem to go on forever. This is a Showa Period C.1950 bronze 'koi' carp flower vase signed by the famous bronze artist Shinho and commissioned by the Nakakoshi Company of Kyoto as a gift. Two carp are swimming in relief locked by playful expressions and fine metalwork craftsmanship. The flower vase comes in a signed 'kiri' paulownia wood box. H:about 9"; diameter: about 11".
