Very unusual and rare iron tetsubin tea ceremony kettle. The textured rough casting is the first of this kind that we have seen. The condition is excellent and there are no cracks or leaks. Stunning iron 'tetsubin' tea kettle from the famed iron foundry Ryubundo. C.1930 this very attractive kettle has a bronze lid and the a hexagon diaper motif with mokko flowers inside. The hexagon symbolizes the turtle and long life which you would get by drinking green tea out of this kettle everyday. The handle has 4 small silver dots and a small silver circle.
