Antique Japanese Buddhist Altar Temple Stand c.1895

Beautiful gold lacquered Buddhist altar temple stand c.1895. Carved from Japanese cypress wood. The base is shaped like a lotus flower and out of the base are three lotus flowers from wood and also gold lacquered. The top, carved in a lotus motif, has a vermillion red lacquered surface ideal for a Buddha or incense burner. Excellent condition. c.1895. (11" x 6½") (28cm x 16cm).
