| Stunning richly patinaed antique Japanese bamboo flower basket from the turn of the century c.1900. This 'wagumi' Japanese style basketry is the epitome of the new free wheeling style that emerged at the end of the Meiji Period c.1868-1912. Using aged susdake bamboo taken from old farmhouse ceilings, this unsigned basket maker has created a texured weave with a beautiful aesthetic sense. A magnificent piece.
