This distinctive vase features the rare use of flanges in the form of water dragons. One side shows a pair fabulous shishi (distinctively done in gossu blue with gold tufts) framing a 3-leaf paulownia motif. A great miniature vase by Kinkozan with excellent work- unfortunately with a crack on the foot (recent).There is also worn gilding. One panel shows a Bijin (beautiful woman) with a koto (zither) and pet cat in front of a screen and a floral arrangement. The reverse shows a lively bird-and-flower scene. The background is a dark brown enamel tone, with a floral motif applied. The base bears the 3-character Kinkozan signature. The crack runs around 1/3 of the area of the foot (see last picture) ...click for details
