A fantastic bronze object in the form of a well-bucket, masterfully simulating the wood in an homage to this fondly-considered rustic form. The casting has meticulously and artfully recreated the wood grain, with the organic patterns and knots finely conceived. The nails as well have been incorporated. This is a great transformation from a common object of daily 19th century life into and object of contemplation. Meiji period. Height 7.3”, width 4.9”
