This fine vase was made by the Okura workshop. The Okura workshop is renowned for the brilliant white color of their porcelain. They were able to achieve this because the clay they used is some of the best quality found,enabling it to withstand extreme heat, producing the brilliant white color. The motif consists of a rose in full bloom done in gold, silver, and black. This piece stands 11 in. tall and is in original mint condition, with no loss of gold work or restoration.

The subject matter is that of a cobalt blue stylized plum tree with multicolored blossoms winding its way across 2/3 of the vase. An extensive amount of gold work outlines and highlights the gnarled tree trunk and plum blossoms. The piece stands 7.50 in. tall by 8.0 in. wide. The condition is perfect. No Restoration. Signed. The subject matter is that of several ducks both swimming and in flight amongst stylized water plants. This large Japanese Blue and White porcelain vase has the motif of a flower box containing chrysanthemums and peony blossoms done in very high relief. The vase is quite large measuring 14 inches tall by 9 inches wide and has a nice solid weight. The condition is excellent with only two of the chrysanthemum petals damaged (see last two pictures). No Restoration. While the piece is signed, as of yet I do not have a translation. The vase dates from the Taisho to early Showa era.

This exquisite vase was done by the world renowned Kakiemon kiln, specifically Kakiemon the 13th (1878-1963). It is believed that in the mid 1600’s the original Kakiemon founder Sakaida Kozoemon was supplied with a few pieces of Chinese porcelain pieces from the Ming dynasty and charged to discover the formula of the wonderful overglazed colors and the pure milk white color porcelain color that had not been obtainable up to that point in Japanese porcelain.
