Fine Japanese Bronze Tripod Bowl
A fine Japanese tripod bronze bowl with inlaid decoration of flying kirin, the fabulous mythical beast with the head of a dragon and hooves of a deer. The kirin are inlaid with sculpted and engraved silver, with inlaid akagane (red copper) flames and inlaid shakudo wisps of clouds; the three feet feature archaistic mask forms with silver inlaid eyes, and the base bears an engraved archaistic seal. Piece is in great condition with a couple small dings and one scratch that can not be felt. The diameter is 3 ¾ in. and a height of 3 in. C. 1898.
