Japanese Satsuma vase w/ Maple Leaves
This wonderful signed Japanese vase captures Japans country side transitioning into fall. The motif depicts a quaint Japanese village in the mountains. There is a bridge crossing a flowing stream leading up to a Pagoda which towers over the surrounding maple trees. Flowing down the neck of the vase are vibrant red and gold maple leaves. This piece is in excellent condition with a little bit of wear to the gold from handling. There is also a small line on the neck of the vase wear the blue paint has been scratched revealing the gold paint underneath. This piece stands 4 ¾ in tall and is signed. Late Meiji to early Taishio period.
