A fine Japonesque imari palette sauce tureen from Spode, Davenport or another fine maker. Pomegranate finial with heavy gilding and cobalt blue top this lovely sauce. Width is ", height is ". Condition is excellent with the only concerns the chipping of the overglaze enamel to the rim of the base and to the spoon notch.(see image) A fine example.
A fine example of Mason's ironstone porcelain. Unusual blank that has been hand decorated with overglaze enamels and gilding in the Muscovy Duck pattern. Diameter is 9 1/2", condition is excellent with one overglazed flake that occured in the making and does not detract. Best quality ironstone from the firm that invented it.
A large Mauchline ware box once used to hold thread. Diameter is 4", height is 2", condition is excellent with some losses and staining to bottom label.Interior label has a wrinkle to the paper and chocking from something blue (thread spools?). See images. Scene is Carisbrooke Castle.
Wedgwood "Capriware" teapot. Basalt body with impeccable enameled floral decorations. Length is 9", width is 6.5" height is 4.5". Condition is very good with only fault being a tiny fleabite to the lid - an easy restore.(see image) Blindstamped WEDGWOOD only.
A pretty pair of Davenport "stone china" soup plates with clobbered overglaze enameling and gilding. Pattern is "Chinese Scenery" in blue. Diameter is 9 1/2", depth 1 1/2", condition is excellent.Romantic transferware at its best.
Richly decorated covered Spode Chinese Trophies server with Chinoiserie designs and gilding. Diameter is 10 1/3", height of base is 3", height with cover on is 6 1/2". Condition is good with the following faults, slight rubbing to gilt of handle, faint and tight star to bottom of base and chip to top that does not show when cover is in place. (see images)Marked with a blind stamp "Spode's New Stone on both pieces and a red 4155 and decorator's mark on the base.
This is classical set is unsigned but the handle, rich gilt and restrained decoration remind me of Beidermeier era taste. Height of cup is 3", width is 4", width of saucer is 5 1/2", depth is 1". Condition is good with some losses to gilt ring in center of the saucer, A pretty set.
