Absolutely charming bracelet by Mexican jewelry designer Horacio de la Parra. The bracelet is comprised of eight silver frogs with green glass bellies. It has a wearable length of 6 3/4 inches, and is marked PARRA, Hecho en Mexico, and 800 for the silver content. This is a Pre-Eagle piece, dating to the 1940s.
Lovely and early William Spratling brooch in a Pre-Columbian design. The brooch measures 1.5 by 1.5 inches. It is marked with the early Spratling WS mark, Taxco, and 980 for the silver content. The brooch is pre-Eagle, and dates to Spratling's first design period, 1931-1946. It is has a beautiful soft patina - a lovely and wearable piece.
This is a beautiful Maciel bracelet, featuring both repousse and cutwork. It is marked Maciel, Made in Mexico and 925/1000, dating it to the late 1930s or early 1940s. This is a bold. large bracelet. It measures 2 inches across the longest part of the top, and has a diameter of 2 1/2 inches. It is in lovely condition, with only minor surface scratches.
This is a very stylish and wearable sterling bracelet by Sigi. It has a dynamic, modernist zig zag motif that will go with everything. It is an earlier Sigi piece, dating probably to the early 1950s. The bracelet is marked Sigi, Tasco, Sterling, Hecho en Mexico, design number 316, and Sigi's eagle 36. It measures 2 1/2 inches in diameter and is 1 1/2 inches at its tallest across the top.
This is a gorgeous carved and pierced bracelet by the Mexican silver artist known as AEM, or AE heart. It has a graceful, art nouveau inspired design of flowing, curving lines. It has a wearable length of 6 5/8 inches. The bracelet is marked AEM, Sterling, Mexico, and is in excellent condition, with minimal scratches. It is pre- eagle, probably dating to the early 1940s. Clasp closes securely.
This is a beautiful and very early necklace made in Taxco. It features the cornflower motif used by many of the Mexican artists. Each of the flowers is made by hand, using green glass for the stamen of each flower. The quality of this necklace is extremely high, though it is signed simply Taxco, Sterling and 925. It probably dates to the 1930s. It has the old style hook closure, and has a wearable length of 20 1/2 inches, and is in excellent condition for a necklace of this age.
This is a lovely bracelet by Bernice Goodspeed, bearing one of the four variations of Goodspeed's mark as documented in Bille Hougart's Little Book of Mexican Silver Marks. The bracelet features both repousse and cutwork techniques, and is in extremely good condition. It measures 7 inches by 1 inch.
This pin may well have started its life as an earring. Note the construction with hinging that has been fixed with a very old mend. Sugar loaf turquoise and multi-color gold are worked into a charming bouquet. Superb graduated granulated edge detail. Length is 2 1/4 with the drops, width is 1 3/8", condition is excellent. Old repair has obscured the hallmarks but French gold standard is 18K and this looks and feels it. A makers hallmark of ET is visible. Stunning workmanship on a wonderful and unique lapel pin. Ooh-la-la, c'est formidable!
Large figural Satsuma button picturing Seven Lucky Gods at leisure. Quality and detail of the painting is superb. Diameter is 1 7/8", condition is very good with a few scratches to the gold border(see images). Cobalt and gold rim with creamy, crackled background. A nice example.
