Traditional Seminole Indian woman's dress skirt with patchwork bands. This was made in the traditional tribal style with no zipper, hooks or buttons. Closure is secured with safety pins. Skirt is made of high-quality blue cotton velveteen and 100% cotton with masses of rick rack applied. Waist is 29" (adjustable), length is 41", condition is excellent, has been worn. This is a very full, heavy skirt that in my opinion, dates to the middle of the 20th century. Wearable art!
Heavy crystal with a thick layer of cranberry overlay then cut to brilliant perfection.
This is a stunning pitcher or decanter in the very desirable cranberry color. The color is from a thick layer of colored glass, not flashed or tinted. The silver plated mounts are in very good condition with the only fault a few small, rough bubbles to the silver of the top rim where it was put away wet. This is not visible with the lid closed.
Glass is perfect.
Height is 12" to top of thumb rest, width is 7".
A truly massive and elegant piece of late Victorian glass.
Rare and gorgeous drab ware/drabware candlesticks with classical decorations. These are likely by Ridgway. Height is 10", width at base 4". Condition is excellent with just three small chips to the underside of the stoneware base (see image). Wonderful examples of drab ware candlesticks- the only pair I have ever seen.
Massive Irish cut glass canoe or navette shaped bowl. Height is 8",length is 12", width is 8". Beautiful, deep cutting with a swirled pattern to the lower section of the bowl. The foot is deeply lobed and thick. The condition of this piece is excellent with only several truly miniscule flakes to the rim. This elongated form is a specialty of the Irish glass houses which thrived after the tax on glass was lifted from Ireland in the 18th Century. A fine example of Irish glass. Waterford?
A large Julius Dressler hand painted colorful majolica tazza with two putti in the style of Michael Powolny. Height is 14", width is 14". Condition is good with wear to the coloration of the bowl, a tight stress hairline across the middle of the bowl that does not extend to the edges, several shallow chips to the base and rubbing to the metallic glaze of the rim and base. There is also kiln frit embedded in the clear glaze of the base - see images. Sounds much worse than it is - this has a massive presence and is absolutely stunning Austrian art pottery.
