Serafin Moctezuma was a contemporary of Willam Spratling, making jewelry in Taxco, Mexico in the early to mid 20th Century. His work is fairly scarce, and mentioned in the book "Mexican Silver" by Morrill & Berk. This traditionally styled brooch is made of 980 silver, which is almost pure silver and a higher grade than sterling. It is good sized, measuring approx. 2" x 1.5". Very good vintage condition. Weight 18.2 grams.

Striking early bracelet by important Taxco designer Los Castillo. The abstract Pre-Columbian design resembles running water or feathers. The bracelet measures 1.25" wide and 9" long (circumference). The hallmarks are the earliest for Los Castillo, used between 1940 and 1945. The number "495" is the correct number assigned to this design. This is a very heavy, solid and substantial bracelet, weighing 77.6 grams. Excellent condition. More photos of this item can be seen on my w ...click for details
