An eye-catching and important piece of wearable art by Mid Century Modernist New York silversmith Philip Paval, whose work is featured in the 1998 edition of Warmans "Jewelry" book. Paval's work is very scarce and sought after by collectors. The bright orange stone, which appears to be coral, is raised inside a large sterling dish. This large and substantial ring is a size 5.5. It measures 1" across the top. In very good vintage condition. It is signed "P/P Paval, sterl ...click for details

Wonderful American studio ring in sterling silver. The ingenious designed features a silver bar capped at each end by a cultured pearl. The bar is hung on a wire so that it tips and rocks back and forth as you move. The effect is outrageous, and not for the shy. Size 7.5. Marked "sterling." Weight 7.8 grams. Excellent condition.

Not much is known about Industria Argentina, except that they produced exceptionally designed and crafted jewelry in the 1950s and '60s. This weighty silver ring is typical of their purist modernist aesthetic.

Sparkling hand made bracelet in what appears to be brass, with sterling silver accents. The brass is shiny and very gold colored. The choice of silver for the small bubbles and the raised portion really shows off the three dimensionality of the design. Illegibly hallmarked.

Circa 1960s large pendant consisting of a silver frame surrounding an enameled disc in pale pink, blue and turquoise. The back is black enamel. Unsigned, but probably Scandinavian. Including the bale, the pendant hangs 2.5" and is 1 7/8" in diameter. Weighs 28.3 grams. Excellent condition.
My photos don't do this large, heavy pendant justice. It is beautifully made, with graceful curves and a striking, well balanced design. The large solid loop at the rear will accommodate a thick chain or neck ring. It measures just under 3.5" long and weighs in at a hefty 40.9 grams. Stamped "sterling" and also with an illegible stamp.
